Cartel Bo dominates with relentless hustle and sharp rhymes in ‘Chapo’

Cartel Bo

Cartel Bo (@cartelbo) is always on go mode, and that’s quite evident in his new EP, Chapo. Stacked with seven hard-hitting tracks, the Houston rap stars’ latest project explores the power of tenacity, owning your voice, and why others should never back down from any challenge. Similarly, Chapo persuades listeners to never back down from a challenge. It’s the perfect project for those who need a boost of motivation or an outlet to speak their piece.

Chapo comes in hot with “The Pope,” a flex-worthy record in which Cartel Bo speaks on the depth of his influence. Over the triumphant trap beat, the rapper compares his notoriety to The Pope, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church.

From there, Cartel Bo calls on his hittas and addresses the opps, making them eat their words.Youngins ready get on your a*s/I’m textin’ one word, and that’s “‘Go,’” he spits, adding, “Was talkin’ crazy than a b***h ’til he got to lookin’ down that pole (Pole).

The Houston rapper then shows off his wealth, rapping about his luxurious lifestyle, thanks to his relentless hustle and hard work.

In his major-label debut single, “Make Em’ Pay You,” Cartel Bo encourages women to swindle the men who fabricate their lifestyle. As the taunting trap production goes off, the rapper essentially lists the ways that ladies can finesse the simps out there.

Lyrics like “Tell that n***a whatever the f**k he wants, bae, you can be it (Girl, you can be it)/One hell of a head on your shoulders, you a genius” take the narrative home.

Overall, Chapo highlights Cartel Bo’s unstoppable drive and his determination to keep pushing forward

By the third track, “You Not Rich,” Cartel Bo pays no mind to the broke boys as he gets to the bag. Once the eerie trap cut blares through the speakers, the rapper stands on business as he takes aim at his haters. He promises that the opps will not be dealt with lightly. Maxo Kream mirrors Cartel Bo as he uses vivid rhymes to express the ways he’s fighting back against them. The song ends with Cartel Bo being simply unbothered because he knows they’re all cap.

Songs such as”Get In There” and “How I’m Comin'” are testaments to Cartel Bo’s hustle mentality. In the following trap-ridden offerings, he drops bars about getting to the racks and not letting up on the opps’ necks. The fan-favorite record “Payday” also highlights Cartel Bo profiting from his success as he celebrates being compensated for relentlessly working around the clock.

The project closes with the violin-centered offering “Fresh Out The Fedz,” which sees Cartel Bo reflecting on his time behind bars. As he ruminates about his personal growth, the musician raps about overcoming hardships to reach to the top. Instead of waiting on an opportunity, he created his own. “Fresh Out The Fedz” ultimately shows fans that Cartel Bo refuses to keep his foot off the gas in and out of the hip-hop industry. From offering raw looks at his journey to dismissing the negativity, the EP delivers themes of resilience and victory. The project also pushes listeners worldwide to apply pressure.
