CeCe Peniston is “Finally” back to perform her biggest hits!

From her 1991 debut “Finally” when she was just 22, to her latest excellent and exciting EPs, singles and albums, Cecilia V. “CeCe” Peniston has had a legendary career as a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter. Swiftly striving to stardom with her successful singing and songwriting skills, CeCe quickly became a staple in music of a variety of genres such as: R&B, Soul, Pop, Dance, and House. Her passion of pursuing her career as a performer was promising as she was voted Miss Black Arizona in 1989 before releasing and recording her debut album.

Propelling to prominence from Phoenix, Arizona, CeCe Peninston signed with A&M Records carving her celebratory career with her craft of music in 1990. In doing so, she received raved recognition with her first appearance as a featured singer on the 1991 trendy track “I Like It” by female rapper Overweight Pooch. As a result, CeCe Peniston went on to become one of the best and most successful dance club artists of all time! In doing so, she made her mark with multiple monumental No.1 hits landing on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. In addition to her fan-favorite “Finally” record which went on to become one of the largest dance singles of all time, selling 3 million copies worldwide.

Throughout her trailblazing career, CeCe has three studio albums to her credit: “Finally” (1992) which charted for 33 weeks, “Thought Ya Knew” (1994), and “Movin’ On” (1996). Thriving through talent, all three critically acclaimed studio albums were commercially successful. Although a Gospel influenced project was in the works set to arrive in 1998, unfortunately the agreement fell through. Not letting up, throughout the 2000s, Peniston released numerous sizzling singles with varying degrees of success. Her most successful singles being 2001’s “Lifetime To Love” landing at #2 in the United States of Dance, her 2005 “Deeper Love” which held down the #14 in the United States of Dance for a few weeks, before her 2007 “Shame Shame Shame” which charted #23 in the United States of Dance. 

The gift that keeps on giving!

Keeping up the momentum of colossal creativity, in 2010, went on to release two raved records: a ballad called “Above Horizons” and a hip-hop/dance tune called “In Love with a DJ”. In the spring of 2011, she released the Pop/R&B single “Stoopid”. Furthermore, Perfecto singles (Paul Oakenfold) and 16 BARS Music (Kevin Lewis) released an official re-release of “Finally” in 2011. To coincide with the 20th anniversary of what remains one of the biggest dance and house hits of all time. Cementing the celebration, the package included a wide selection of remixes created by the Joyriders and other cutting-edge producers. Continuously moving the masses, on March 27th, 2012, 16 BARS MUSIC and CeCe Peniston released the trendy track “Celebrate”.

In 2021, Peniston landed #1 on the LGBTQ Urban Charts for 10 weeks featuring on 2AM Ricky’s hit single “Whatchu On”. This marked 2AM Ricky as the First Black Transgender Artist to land on any chart. From that moment on, Peniston took the aspiring artist under her wing and became his mentor. The two have developed a long-lasting business relationship, with 2AM joining as songwriter for Peniston with several upcoming records in the works to be released. Together, Peniston and 2AM Ricky have worked to bring awareness to the importance of allyship in the fight for trans rights, mental health in music, and educating upcoming artists on the importance of protecting their music and music business administration

“Finally” is a forever classic

Additionally, decades later her raved release, “Finally” is currently circulating the industry again. Remaining a force to be reckoned with decades later, Chris brown is currently performing her debut title track on his tour. In more recent years Adele and Lady Gaga also performed “Finally” on their shows. In addition to Kelly Clarkson opening up her 2023 season with a live televised performance of “Finally”. Overall her standout single and studio album has been featured on a variety of TV shows , episodics and national commercials. Mot recently during a national campaign with Kroger fresh delivery ,Firefly, Twenties, The Emmys, Rupaul’s Drag Race, Stage Mother and the Wendy Williams Show where Peniston was the opener for season 9 of the show. As a result, she redid the theme song with “Finally” as the basis for the musical content with revised lyricism.

Remarkably, her career has spanned over decades and still gets listeners up dancing! Following a short hiatus, the genre-bending queen of Dance returns to the road.
