Central Cee breaks down what modern-day love is on his latest single “Gen Z Luv”

Central Cee details a 2024 love story

As Central Cee prepares for his upcoming album, he aims to build momentum with a heartfelt single that explains his methods for finding love in 2024.

The UK rapper raps over a melodic and soft drill beat, where he pens a modern-day love story. Additionally, the production feels like a distant cousin of the sexy drill wave recently popularized by Cash Cobain and New York. Throughout the song, Cee, in turn, breaks down what Gen Z love looks like. Furthermore, the rapper speaks with his future child about how his parents met. As a result, with multiple references to social media dating tactics, this single serves as the soundtrack for a modern-day relationship.

“Gen Z Luv” was released alongside a creative vertical music video that perfectly details the song’s contents. Considering the numerous references to finding love through smartphones, it makes sense that the music video is set in apps. As Central Cee raps, he receives multiple text messages, flips through various apps, records TikToks, and corresponds with different women. Consequently, the video enhances the song’s exploration of modern relationships.

These clever visuals perfectly complement the song and show how Central Cee navigates.

Central Cee’s recent wins

Central Cee has been active this summer after the success of Ice Spice’s single “Did It First,” which sparked dating rumours she denied in a Rolling Stone interview. The dating rumors sparked sour clapbacks from his recent ex Madeline Argy who accused the rapper of cheating. His previous single “BAND4BAND” with Lil Baby has been on fire since its May release, going viral on social media.

He hasn’t confirmed details about his upcoming album; however, the music video teases it with a text message saying “album mode.”
