Central Cee‘s sweet revenge comes in the form of a big flex via “Let Go.”
Spitting transparent bars over a drill-based beat that samples Passenger‘s “Let Her Go,” the UK artist explains why he decided to part ways with a woman who “make me question love.” Although Central Cee is making strides, he can’t help but to want that old thing back.
Using his cutting-edge flow, the rapper spits
“I loved you until you try to get in my head/And that’s why I lost respect/You’re doin’ the most to get my attention, baby, I’m not impressed, uh/I changed my bedsheets, but I still smell your flesh/I don’t know how we got in this mess.”
As the song continues, Central Cee continues his pursuit to rekindle the flame of romance that has long since been extinguished. He reminds her why their love makes the most sense.
“Tell me what you need, I’ll provide everythin’/Baby, you don’t know what you’re missin’/Our chemistry felt like quantum physics, physics,” he raps.
Although he’s selling out arenas across the board, Central Cee looks for her throughout the crowds. Still, he must face the music. His amor has decided to move on.
“You made me delete that pic off my phone/But I close my eyes, still see that image,” he admits.
To get over her, he goes the distance with other love interests. However, he can’t deny that this lady is his home.
“And I don’t even know why I did it, as soon as I’m finished, I’m gettin’ them dropped off/And what makes it worse, I know that she’s tellin’ her friends that I chopped her,” he delivers.
Elsewhere, Central Cee spits
“If you won’t give me your love for free, I’ll buy it, just tell me how much it’ll cost me.”
In “Let Go,” the No More Leaks musician also boasts about being more well-off than his ex’s current boyfriend.
He claps back with the rhymes, saying, “Your new man ain’t got nothin’ on me/F-ck your annual wage, I can make that monthly, huh, alright.”
In closing, “LET GO” affirms that the heart simply wants what it wants.
