R&B duo Chloe X Halle released their music video for the title track, “Ungodly Hour,” on Thursday night. They premiered the visual during Thursday night’s episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Directed by Alfred Marroquin, the video has an almost sci-fi concept with the opening scene showing the girls in a dark lab surrounded by disconnected and sparking wires donning latex bodysuits with headdresses to match. Between another scene immersed in water, their skilled choreography and matching chrome gowns (again with matching headdresses) the video definitely grabs the audience’s attention.
The overall project has gained a lot of attention and success, even snagging them a Grammy nomination for best progressive R&B album. Following the video’s debut they also released the deluxe version of their album Ungodly Hour: Chrome Edition that features two new tracks. “80/20” where they sing about being torn between their romantic partner and a torrid lover and “Hazy,” which is produced by Chloe Bailey herself, is an alluring song that paints the story of a steamy and passion-filled relationship.
