Detroit artist Courtney Bell recruits Icewear Vezzo for latest single “Deebo”

Detroit lyricists Icewear Vezzo and Courtney Bell exchange bars about earning their stripes being from some of the toughest neighborhoods in their city. Both Courtney Bell and Icewear Vezzo’s ability to play off the rhymes and energy of each other over a piano ridden beat by Kyle “IRock” Adams keeps the listener engaged and amused. The song is a nod to the classic movie Friday and samples audio from the infamous scene where Greg (Ice Cube) runs to his room to pick up a gun, only to be stopped and enlightened by his father, played by the late John Singleton.

The visual for the song only makes it that much more enthralling with both Courtney and Icewear being captured under neon strobe lights surrounded by their crew, showing off their jewelry and giving off excitable energy that matches each and every word they rap throughout. With this only being Courtney’s first official single this year it seems like fans can expect more heavy hitting bars and high energy songs from him in the upcoming months.
