UnitedMasters Takes Over SXSW 2023 at the House of Independence
UnitedMasters, Ally, and Earn Your Leisure came together on March 17th in Austin, Texas to create the ‘Earn Your Masters’ fireside panel chat. The event featured spokespersons Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings (Co-Founders of Earn Your Leisure), Jadakiss, LaRussel and Ryan Leslie. Remixd Magazine was in attendance and enjoyed the unique experience that combined education, music, and entertainment.
The event fueled financial literacy in educating the next generation of creators and people who are traditionally underserved by financial institutions. The panel discussed many interesting points that touched on the topic of entrepreneurship.
“Learn as much as you can about what you’re getting into,” says Jadakiss when asked about his experience being his own boss. “It’s like a marriage, anything you’re about to fall in love with or spend the rest of your life with, you should try and obtain as much knowledge as you can before you jump the broom or sign the contract.”
At the end of the panel, audiences had the opportunity for Q&A.
Remixd Magazine got the opportunity to chat with EYL’s Troy Millings to ask him about advice for those who want to start podcasts.
“My advice would be study the space,” Millings told RemixdMag. “I want you to study the ins and outs of the space. On the outside it looks easy, but there’s a lot of work that goes into it. Make sure you’re doing a topic that add values to people’s lives, so that it becomes part of their daily routine. Consistency is what most people lack, but if your goal is to add value and impact people’s lives, you’re going to add value whether you’re making money or not.”
