The lights dimmed at Avalon Hollywood on September 4, setting the stage for a milestone moment: the 10-year anniversary of Los Angeles-based womenswear label Ellaé Lisqué. Founded by CEO Maxie J., the brand celebrated a decade of bold, sophisticated fashion with a runway show. The event drew celebrities, tastemakers, and industry insiders from across the entertainment and fashion worlds. Remixd Magazine was on site to capture all the action.
Hosted by Moe Diggs, the evening’s runway was a dazzling mix of glamour and energy. Among the notable attendees were King Combs, Justin Combs, Quincy Brown, Jessica Rich, LisaRaye, Mariama Diallo, and James Keith, all drawn to the magnetic celebration of a brand that has become synonymous with inclusivity and unapologetic confidence. On stage, The Combs Twins, Lakeyah, Dreezy, and Sky Days turned heads as they brought Ellaé Lisqué’s designs to life. From the moment the first models hit the catwalk, it was clear this was more than a fashion show. It was a celebration of perseverance. “I really, really pray that my story inspires people to keep going,” Maxie J. shared during her speech. “Everybody faces the trials and tribulations, but the key is to keep going. Give your life no other choice but to go the way you want it to go, and then your plan B is another way to make your plan A work.” Her words resonated deeply with attendees, underscoring the personal journey behind the brand’s success.
Founded in 2014 with just six dresses sold online, Ellaé Lisqué has grown into a thriving womenswear label with a plus-size/curve line and a showroom in Downtown Los Angeles. Maxie J., an Inglewood native, has made inclusivity a cornerstone of her brand. Moreover, employing a team overwhelmingly composed of women of color and creating designs that celebrate the female form with sophistication and style.
