Social media reacts to the latest Offest album ‘SET IT OFF’

The album has been met with overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Offset has set the music world ablaze with his sophomore album SET IT OFF

The Migos rapper Offset has followed up his 2019 solo debut FATHER OF 4 with a star-studded effort. The new project taps new producers and rap collaborators from Boi 1da & Vinylz to Chlöe and Latto. The album also sees features from artists such as Mango Foo, Young Nudy, Don Toliver, Future and Travis Scott. And of course, his wife Cardi B makes an appearance on their track “Freaky,” which is a certified bop.

Offset continues his solo run since splitting with record label Quality Control impressing fans with his second full length LP. Overall, the effort was impressive and probably some of Offset’s best work yet.

Social media reacts

Fans have received the project with mixed opinions with some championing the “Fan” rapper with praise, while others calling it “mid.”

One person proclaimed the record had “no skips,” while a clip from popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat suggests the latter felt indifferent about the record.

One person wrote that it was “one of the few albums this year that lived up to the hype.”

More music lovers have issued brief think pieces calling particular cuts “fire,” while others have also shared more extended thoughts on the project entirely. Check out some reactions we selected from the timeline.

Offset delivers album

In September 2022, the “Ric Flair” rapper announced via Twitter that his second solo album was primed to drop in November of that year. The tragedy that besieged his family and co-hitmaker Takeoff on November 1st inevitably pushed back the record.

Preceded by singles “FAN” that channels longtime hero and muse Michael Jackson’s music video “Thriller” and “JEALOUSY” featuring larger-than-life rapper wife Cardi, Offset shared the album on October 13th amidst a blockbuster roll-out that included a clothing line capsule with Tremaine Emory’s Denim Tears, a 24-hour stream with Kai Cenat, and viral moments including a viral interview with disruptive Hip Hop media Bobbi Althoff.
