On Friday, September 27, MusiCares and Amazon Music wrapped up their “Live on the Lawn” summer concert series with a star-studded finale on the Amazon Studios Mansion Lawn in Culver City. Remixd Magazine was in attendance to witness the great vibes. The event consisted of a blend of music, community, and a larger purpose. Moreover, audiences gathered and enjoyed live performances from FERG, Toosii, and Kenyon Dixon.

To start the night, R&B sensation Kenyon Dixon brought a soulful touch. He mesmerized the audience with his smooth vocals and heartfelt performance. Toosii followed with his melodic trap anthems, performing songs such as “Favorite Song,” with the crowd singing along word-by-word. He created an emotional connection with the crowd through his introspective lyrics. Closing out the night, FERG’s high-energy set the final tone for the evening. He delivered his signature mix of hard-hitting beats and captivating stage presence. FERG did a special performance of “Dreams, Fairytales, Fantasies,” acapella, where the audience sang along bar-for-bar. He also performed his classic hit anthem, “Plain Jane.”

While the music was the main attraction, the event carried a deeper meaning. MusiCares, the charitable arm of the Recording Academy, has been a lifeline for music professionals for decades, offering critical services to those in need. The “Live on the Lawn” concert series not only brought live music to fans but also spotlighted MusiCares’ ongoing efforts. Particularly as many in the industry face challenges due to the recent devastation caused by Hurricane Helene.

Amidst the celebration, the event served as a reminder of the important role MusiCares plays in the music ecosystem. In fact, the organization offers emergency relief, financial assistance, and mental health support to music professionals in times of crisis. Attendees were encouraged to support the organization’s mission and reminded that those in need could seek help through their services at www.MusiCares.org.

The atmosphere was intimate and relaxed, with attendees lounging on picnic blankets under the stars, soaking in the performances and the sense of community. It was more than just a concert. It was a gathering of like-minded individuals rallying behind a common cause.

As the final show of the summer series, the night was a fitting conclusion to what has been a season of powerful performances and purposeful outreach. MusiCares and Amazon Music, through “Live on the Lawn,” successfully merged music and philanthropy.
