Future announces ‘Mixtape Pluto’ release date and reveals cover art

Future

New Future is on the horizon. He’s gearing up for new music and recently announced his third project of 2024. The Atlanta rapper revealed on September 11 that his upcoming project, titled Mixtape Pluto, will drop on September 20. “F*** the publicity I got this out the mud MIXTAPE PLUTO 9-20-24,” Future wrote in his social media post, adding to the buzz surrounding his latest release.

The announcement came with the revealing of the project’s cover art. The striking image features the iconic Dungeon Family house bathed in a vivid pink fluorescent light. According to Apple Music, Mixtape Pluto will consist of 17 tracks, though the collaborators involved have yet to be confirmed.

In addition to the release date and cover art, Future has launched pre-save links for the project, along with merchandise and vinyl bundles available on Freebandz’s website. Fans can choose from CDs and vinyl records, with an alternate cover featuring lime-green lighting. The $40 bundles include shirts in two color options: purple/white or black/green.

Future has already teased one track from the mixtape, titled “Too Fast.” The rapper recently shared a snippet of the song, hinting at a high-energy visual directed by Kid Art. The lyrics suggest a reflection on rapid success: “Bought the Patek I was moving too fast / New G-Wagon I was moving too fast / Got the condo I was moving too fast,” Future raps.

While the full list of collaborators remains under wraps, Travis Scott has hinted at his involvement. Last week, Scott previewed a snippet of a track from the project, rumored to be called “South of France.” Production duties on Mixtape Pluto include contributions from 808 Mafia’s Southside and Wheezy, who have both been vocal about their roles in the project.

This upcoming release follows Future’s successful collaboration albums with Metro Boomin, We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You, both of which topped the Billboard 200 earlier this year. The duo recently concluded their We Trust You Tour in Vancouver on September 9.

As anticipation builds, Future’s Mixtape Pluto is set to add another chapter to a prolific year for the rapper.
