This year’s Lovers and Friends Fest was filled with so many moments. From good, to bad, to awkward. This year’s festival had a lot going on in just that one day.

Ginuwine falling off the stage
Ginuwine just doesn’t cease to disappoint when it comes to being the talk on the internet. From his funny and viral past moments on stage, The R&B artist continues the momentum at this year’s festival.
While performing his hit single, “In Those Jeans”, the singer jumped off the stage, however he didn’t quite land the way he intended. While on his way down, he’s seen trying to grab on to his ASL interpreter to avoid falling off, however, that didn’t work.
But that didn’t seem to stop him! He continued to sing his heart out from down where he was. The following Monday (May 8th). Ginuwine took to his Instagram to address his fall with some humor. He even sings Donnie McClurkin’s “We Fall Down” in light of the joke.
Da Brat performing pregnant
Speculations swirled on how Da Brat would perform while pregnant. However the rapper left no crumbs during her flawless performance.
The rapper sported a custom white and red Bulls jersey as she proudly displayed her pregnant belly.
Bryson Tiller brings out Mario
Bryson Tiller had a very intimate set at the Bling stage. He performed hits from his popular 2015 debut album, TRAPSOUL. Though he had the crowd singing along with him, the artist he brought had the crowd singing at the top of their lungs.
Singer Mario would join Tiller on stage, and gave us a mini show of his own. He performed “Crying Out for Me”, “Let Me Love You”, and his 2002 debut single, “Just a Friend”.
Mario was the perfect surprise for the R&B lovers.
Christina Aguilera brings out Lil Kim to perform “Lady Marmalade”
Christina Aguilera gave the crowd a show with her powerful voice. She performed a few of her hits, however the highlight of her set was when she brought out Lil Kim to perform their 2001 hit single, “Lady Marmalade”
Lil Kim also had a set at the festival earlier in the day. However seeing her come out to perform the iconic song was surely a moment.
Return of PartyNextDoor
PartyNextDoor is one lowkey artist. Much like Frank Ocean, this artist comes out every so often to give his fans a show. So you gotta catch this artist when you can.
It was, however, a pleasure to see him arrive on stage performing “Break From Toronto”. His set was intimate and was filled with so many of his personal hits from “Right Now”, “Persian Rugs”, and “With You” ft Drake off of the 2016 Views album.
Honorable mention: All that walking
Not music related, however for those who were in attendance at this year’s festival, you know that there was a lot of walking to try to get to each stage on time to see an artist perform.
The festival did a great job by having the “Lovers” and “Friends” stage right next to each other for the headliners. However, walking from the “Lovers” and “Friends” stage over to the “Bling” or “Crunk” stage was a mission in itself.
If you weren’t at the festival, be thankful you missed out on that.
