India Shawn teams up with Lucky Daye for dreamy new single “Cotton Candy Blvd”

India Shawn

India Shawn (@indiashawn) is undoubtedly one of R&B’s most captivating voices. The singer just released her newest single, “Cotton Candy Blvd.” featuring Grammy-winning artist Lucky Daye. The track feels like a warm summer night. It’s sweet, smooth, and full of emotion. Though the title sounds sugary, the song has a bold and textured sound that gives it unexpected depth. It’s honest and heartfelt, staying true to India’s signature style of vulnerable storytelling.

Describing the song, India says, “‘Cotton Candy Blvd.’ is a summer night, a slow drive, and a long-awaited yes.” She adds that working with Lucky Daye was a dream come true, and their voices blend together like magic. “The song is sweet, but it’s got depth. It’s the tension before the kiss, the invitation and the promise,” she explains. Her favorite lyric? “I’m more than ready to love,” which she says comes straight from the heart.

The song was written by a talented group including India Shawn, Lucky Daye, D’Mile, and Yonatan “Chiiild” Ayal. Production came from D’Mile and Chiiild, with engineering by D’Mile and John Kercy. With its smooth vocals, rich instrumentation, and emotional honesty, “Cotton Candy Blvd.” is the kind of track you want to play on repeat during a sunset drive.

This release follows India Shawn’s single “Kill Switch,” which marked her return to music. That song told a story of reclaiming power and letting go of past hurt. India woke up on the day of the session with the lyric “anybody else but you” in her head, and it ended up fitting perfectly into the track. With help from indie band Mamalarky, D’Mile’s expert production, and Varren Wade’s lyrical support, “Kill Switch” became a bold anthem of strength.

With “Cotton Candy Blvd.,” India Shawn proves once again that she’s a force in R&B. Thus, ready to love, ready to lead, and ready to shine.
