With a voice as delicate as it is powerful, rising Canadian R&B artist Arianna Reid (@_arireid) invites listeners into a world that’s both intimate and introspective. The Brampton-born singer, songwriter, and producer recently released her new single “Waste No Time.” The track is a self-written and self-produced single that marks the final teaser from her upcoming sophomore EP, Entries.
“Waste No Time” explores the emotional tension of a situationship. During an interview, Reid sharesdwith Remixd Magazine that, “Relationships inspired this single in particular but I was inspired to shed a light on a particular one we don’t usually talk about. The stage between going from just friends to lovers.”
The track beautifully showcases her signature sound. Moreover, she has an ambient vocal layering, silky harmonies, and rich yet minimal production. “It’s controlled yet expressive,” she explains. Thus, she cites Sade, Brandy, Mariah Carey, and PARTYNEXTDOOR as major influences. For this single and the Entries EP, she also says she drew inspiration from production giants like Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Pharrell, and Darkchild.

“I think the aspect of creativity and freedom in music excites me, the fact that you can truly carve out a sound that you envisioned sonically is something I will always be passionate about!” Reid shares. “I’m inspired by the mastery of just that, and people who take it so seriously, who immerse themselves in all ways, who do everything to study, learn and practice till they absolutely master this craft and their sound to the point where it’s just undeniably excellent!”
Her upcoming EP Entries is described as a diary of early-20s emotion. Moreover, it’s a deeply personal project that captures the vulnerability, confusion, and raw passion of young love and self-discovery.
“It is a sensual, romantic R&B EP that captures the emotional highs and lows of love and life in your early 20s,” she continues. “This project reflects the vulnerability, passion, confusion, and growth that come with navigating relationships and self-discovery. Inspired by my own personal experiences, Entries reads like a diary, a collection of moments where love felt overwhelming, freeing, and honest.”
Furthermore, fans can catch Arianna live this August as she opens for Mariah the Scientist and Kiana Ledé at Somekinda Festival in St. Catharines, ON—where she’ll debut Waste No Time and the full Entries EP.
