Jae Murphy celebrates new single “Stop Cryin” with star-studded release party in LA

Jae Murphy

Acclaimed DJ and producer Jae Murphy is honoring the culture, resilience, and joy of New Orleans with his new single “Stop Cryin.” Teaming up with bounce rap star Vickeelo and bounce legend Hasizzle, Murphy delivers a vibrant ode to the city. Moreover, it’s perfectly timed to mark the 20-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

From the jump, “Stop Cryin” captures the signature energy of New Orleans bounce. Think: thumping drums, infectious call-and-response, and that unmistakable hometown flavor. Recorded in the same legendary studio where Lil Wayne crafted Tha Carter I, the track’s roots run deep. Murphy went all in to keep it authentic, pulling together engineers, producers, videographers, and creatives from the city itself. The result is a record that feels like it could only be made in NOLA.

Vickeelo, who made waves with her feature on Megan Thee Stallion’s “Ride or Die,” adds her unmistakable voice and charisma. Meanwhile, Hasizzle brings raw energy and cultural weight to the mix. There’s even a nostalgic nod with a sly interpolation of TLC’s 90s hit “Creep,” bridging eras while staying firmly planted in bounce tradition.

“This record is New Orleans,” Jae Murphy says. “From the sound, to the visuals, to the people behind it — we wanted to shine a light on the culture that made us. This is a celebration of resilience, joy, and what bounce music means to the world.”

Moreover, the single debuted on the heels of star-studded release party at LAVO Los Angeles, powered by Crown Royal. The night brought out a crowd of celebrities and tastemakers, including Ty Dolla $ign, Leon Thomas, Eric Bellinger, King Combs, Guapdad 4000, Jozzy, Derrick Milano, and NBA standouts Kenyon Martin Jr. and Terrence Mann.

“Stop Cryin” is a tribute, a celebration, and a reminder that NOLA’s bounce will always be unstoppable.
