Joshua Baraka isn’t letting up. After closing out 2025 with the viral rise of his single “Morocco,” the Ugandan breakout is keeping the momentum rolling into the new year. This time recruiting dancehall heavyweight Shenseea for an official remix that pushes the record even further onto the global stage.
Produced by Baraka’s longtime collaborator AXON and mixed by 2x GRAMMY-winner Jae5, the original track built serious traction following its December release. Between nightlife rotation, social media virality, and celebrity co-signs from Stormzy, French Montana, and Rio Ferdinand, “Morocco” quickly outgrew regional buzz and entered international territory.
Now, the Shenseea collaboration came together naturally.
The two artists first connected in Rwanda when Baraka joined her onstage during her headline show at BK Arena. Performing “Morocco” live in front of thousands, he tapped into the same crowd energy that had been driving the record online. And the response made it clear the moment shouldn’t end there.
With A&R support from Dizzy Clean Face via We Good LLC, the link-up soon moved from stage to studio.
On the remix, Shenseea brings her signature presence — confident, melodic, and sharp. Her verse injects a new layer of charisma before the record transitions into a flirtatious call-and-response on the hook, giving the song a conversational feel that adds replay value without straying from the original’s bounce.
For Baraka, the remix arrives at a pivotal moment. Fresh off sold-out tour dates across Africa and Europe and the viral success of “Wrong Places,” he’s continuing to widen his global footprint — and aligning with one of dancehall’s most recognizable voices only reinforces that trajectory.
If the original “Morocco” introduced Joshua Baraka to new audiences, the Shenseea-assisted remix makes it clear he’s here to stay.
