King Combs drops diss record “Pick A Side” taking shots at 50 Cent

Still high off the hype of Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s recent rap beef, Diddy’s son, King Combs stirs up his own rap beef by taking shots to stars in his latest offering. King Combs, the son of hip hop mogul Diddy, enters the ring with his latest diss drop “Pick A Side” as his weapon of choice against an industry titan, 50 Cent.

In the constantly changing world of hip hop, the diss track is a timeless tribute to the genre’s competitive mindset. Like past lyrical battles in which we honor, today’s rap battles are still alive and amusing listeners with their lyrical talent and raw, unfiltered grit. The diss track history is as old as hip hop itself, rising from the ashes of rivaled rhymes and cyphers to become a genre staple.

The Bad Boy Backlash Begins

Each week brings a fresh shot in hip hop’s continuing lyrical warfare, from Drake and Kendrick Lamar to The Game. Now, King Combs has joined the battle, not just to participate, but also to protect his father’s name and the Bad Boy legacy from Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s long-running blows at the Bad Boy Records founder. When it comes to 50, King Combs raps:

“When all they had was 50 Cent who put the city on the map?/ Stop lying, pops been hated on by many men and n***a, that’s fine/ They gon’ try to stop these Eminems and they gon’ die trying.”

King Combs Takes Aim With “Pick A Side”

50 Cent, known as much for his trolling as for his lyrical skill, has amplified his criticisms of Diddy in the wake of serious allegations against him. This backdrop of legal troubles and public scrutiny paints “Pick A Side” in strokes of bold defiance and family loyalty. With that being said, the “Many Men” rapper didn’t seem phased by the shots sent to him. In fact, he highlighted some critiques while taking to his social medias to troll some more.

On Sunday (May 11th), he posted a photo of Diddy and his son dancing on Instagram, captioning it:

“I feel so threatened by the things Christian is saying on his record. I’m afraid for my life, please don’t hurt me guys. I never mentioned or posted anything about puffy’s kids because KEEFE D said he killed 2Pac LOL.”

To be real, many fans didn’t take to the diss track either. The heart of the track lies in its audacity, particularly highlighted by one line that has sparked both interest and controversy. Not letting up, in a Monday morning post, 50 Cent says:

“Now why would you say some shit like this when you know the FEDS are investigating. IS YOU STUPID OR IS YOU DUMB? LOL.”

The G-Unit rhymer was referring a part of the “Pick A Side” record in which King Combs raps.

“Knocked them walls down like when them fedy boys ran in both our cribs/Too bad they ain’t know we bought the one next door/Cause that’s the one they missed.”

“Pick A Side” Sparks Debates On Social Media

In fact, King Combs’s “Pick A Side” has sparked debates across social media platforms and beyond, with responses ranging from enthusiastic support to skeptical criticism. He constructs a fortress of cockiness and implication, challenging the narrative constructed by his father’s opps.

Despite the split in public opinion, one cannot deny the significance of “Pick A Side” in continuing the tradition of diss tracks and rivaled rap beef. It serves as a reminder that hip hop remains a vital outlet for storytelling, personal expression, and, yes, even family respect. The track stands as a testament to King Combs’ eagerness to enter the arena, standing ten toes down in defending his lineage and family legacy through the talent that has taken him to the top so far.

Nonetheless, whether we are feeling the record or not, one thing is for sure. King Combs is going to stick beside his father. Right or wrong he will continue to speak truth to power, no matter the cost. If you haven’t already, press play on “Pick A Side” here at REMIXD Magazine!
