King Isis closes a chapter with bold new EP ‘SIRENITY’

King Isis

Oakland-born artist King Isis (@itskingisis) (they/she) returns with SIRENITY, the final installment in a genre-shifting trilogy that began with scales and continued with shed. The new EP is a raw, reflective journey that embraces emotional complexity and transformation, all while leaning into King Isis’ signature blend of alt-pop, grunge, R&B, and acoustic textures.

Moreover, SIRENITY marks a full-circle moment in their storytelling. The EP acknowledges the nonlinear nature of healing. Thus, inviting listeners into a space where growth is messy, self-acceptance is ongoing, and nothing is ever as neat as it seems. Sonically, it’s a balancing act between softness and storm. Moreover, her music holds space for both chaos and clarity.

The project’s latest single, “LATELY,” co-produced with Bartees Strange, was featured in Billboard‘s “Queer Jams of the Week.” In addition, earlier this spring, the anthemic “PERMANENTLY BROKEN” kicked off the SIRENITY era with a visceral meditation on identity and the search for self.

As a queer, genre-fluid voice rising from Oakland’s vibrant music scene, King Isis has consistently defied categorization. She brings vulnerability, defiance, and sonic experimentation to everything they create. With SIRENITY, they take one last look back before stepping into whatever’s next.

Listen to SIRENITY now and witness the closing of one chapter—and the start of another.
