Kodak Black is back with a new song and music video that celebrates teamwork, loyalty, and sticking with your day-ones. His latest single, “By Myself,” features rising South Florida artists DJ E Money and G6reddot. The track samples the classic 2007 Fabolous hit “Make Me Better,” which originally featured NE-YO.
The beat combines dramatic string sounds with heavy bass and trap drums. Moreover, Kodak sings a catchy hook: “I could do this by myself, but I prefer if we were together.” The lyrics show that while he can succeed alone, he values having a strong team by his side. Furthermore, DJ E Money delivers a smooth verse, and G6reddot adds intensity with his gritty voice. Kodak closes the song with a reminder about sharing success: “We bust down at the table / You don’t go in your room with your plate.”
The music video brings the lyrics to life. It shows Kodak and his crew partying in a small bar, surrounded by money, drinks, cards, and women. One funny scene shows Kodak sweeping up cash with a broom. There are also artistic shots of a conductor dancing with an orchestra and Kodak visiting a graveyard with roses. The video includes a surprise appearance from NE-YO, who joins a skit that pays tribute to the original “Make Me Better” video. Influencer Big SLM TY also appears in the clip.
Overall, Kodak is having a big year. Additionally, he recently received the key to his hometown, Pompano Beach. A big award granted by the city. He also dropped three albums in less than two months, including Gift for the Streets, which features major names like Lil Yachty and C-Murder.
Kodak continues to build his label, Vulture Love, while helping new artists rise. “By Myself” proves that even though Kodak can go solo, he chooses to move with his crew, and he’s bringing them all to the top.
