Latto references “Munch” in new track, fueling beef rumors with Ice Spice

Ice Spice and Latto
Latto seamingly references Ice Spice’s “Munch” on new song with Offset.

Latto is known for her clever punchlines while referencing the likes of different artists within the rap industry. Fans of Latto have noted her ability to connect her bars in the fashion of a simile. Her new feature on Offset’s new album Set It Off is being viewed as another one of those punchlines in question. Latto’s feature on the song “Fine As Can Be” is under current review of fans who believe she referenced Ice Spice within some of the songs lyrics.

Latto’s lyrics during her feature with Offset on the song, “Fine As Can Be”

Seemingly, fans are beginning to speculate that Latto could possibly be referencing Ice Spice’s 2022 break through hit single “Munch,” as apart of her wordplay during the song. “That N***a a munch, your booking fee, ate it for lunch,” she rapped. Fans pointed out Latto’s use of the word “munch” favored the rhyme scheme of Ice Spice’s lyrics during her song. Latto follows up those lyrics with “I don’t do backends, need it up front, I’m big dog, you B***ches is runts.”These small hints have sent fans of both MC’s in a frenzy as they connect a possible dispute between them.

Is there beef between Latto and Ice Spice though, really?

Moreover, the narrative of Latto and Ice Spice having potential beef has stemmed for several months. In a red carpet interview with Billboard, Latto is asked to finish the lyrics to Ice Spice’s “Bikini Bottom.”Latto is seen not knowing the rest of the lyrics to the song. This caused a twitter debate whether she didn’t truly know the words or not. Additionally, her past twitter feud with Nick Minaj also leads fans to believe she dislikes Ice Spice. Nicki and Ice Spice have built a working relationship as they collaborated on songs such as “Princess Diana” and “Barbie World” for the Barbie movie.

Furthermore, Latto has spoken publicly about her stance on being a “Girl’s Girl.” This week, she released a collaboration with the pop legend Christina Aguilera. This collaboration is a commercial for “Just Eat,” a global food delivery company based in Amsterdam. Although she has spoken confidently on her stance, she is also not shy to reference many entertainers in her lyrics.
