Lexxicon has finally delivered his well-anticipated album Tropicon Islands. Coming right before the holidays, the Toronto-raised Jamaican artist has set a new standard for himself. His traditional rollout included a slew of singles, including his REVOLT-approved track “Bubble Everywhere” & “Power Over Me,” “You Know Me“. He has even seen support from America’s favorite syndicated radio show, The Breakfast Club, as of late. When you thought 11 tracks were enough, Lexxicon decided to release a book to pair with the album under the same title. The project has so many moments that any new fan can grasp onto. With the world going through so much recently, we all could use some fun dancing music. [ Photos by @DaveOverThere]
There is something for everyone on Tropicon Islands. If you do not like to have a great time and party, you may dislike this project. There is nothing but infectious vibes throughout. Lyrics like “Just leave Yuh man at home, Don’t bring camera no phone, Need fi get Yuh back blown, Just leave Yuh man at home” shows that Lexxicon is not afraid to speak his mind. Throughout the 11-track project, we learn more and more that Lexxicon is someone you would like to be around. There is not much left to be desired from the versatile recording artist. He is setting the bar and proving that a traditional rollout is still effective in today’s streaming landscape.
