MARJA’KIM started out by shedding light on his roots, saying, “Me and My family are originally from East Orange, New Jersey, but we are currently residing in West Orange.” The artist delves into the genesis of his name, revealing, “MARJA’KIM is my artistry name, and Amar is my real name. I got the name from my nickname ‘mar,’ and my middle name is ‘jakim.’ Ja’kim comes from half my dad’s name, which is James, and half my mom’s name, which is Kimberly. With it all put together, it means immortal forever supplanter chief.”
