Matt DeAngelis pushes for human connection in powerful new single “For Better”

Matt DeAngelis

New Jersey-based artist Matt DeAngelis (@mattdeangelismusic) is bringing heart, soul, and meaning back into music with his latest single, “For Better.” Moreover, he blends progressive rock and pop influences and makes it clear that he’s paving his own lane. Matt’s newest release serves as a thoughtful call to reconnect as a society.

Born and raised in Washington Township, Matt has always been surrounded by music. “I have always been passionate about music from a young age,” he shares with Remixd Magazine. “My parents have always been very influential in molding my career.” His father, a former pro musician, helps produce his music, while his mother’s poetry inspires his lyrics.

With that kind of creative energy around him, it’s no surprise that he started writing early. Thus, he hasn’t stopped since. Moreover, he says that pulls inspiration from legends like David Bowie, Elton John, Billy Joel, and The Beatles. You can hear echoes of those greats in tracks like “For Better,” but the song also feels totally his own.

“For Better” was sparked by Matt’s desire to make people more aware of how we’re interacting in today’s society.

“We must use self improvement by simplifying how we communicate, essentially a return to face to face interpersonal skills,” he explains. “I feel that we’re losing each other as a human race.”

The single takes a deep dive into how technology and modern life are pulling people apart. “With technology now being at the forefront of our operations, we are losing sight of how mankind was able to thrive in the first place,” Matt continues. “Simplicity can actually be the root of goodness. The only thing we can do now is pray for better.”

Next up, Matt is releasing a new single titled “I’m Just The Keyboard Player” this month. Moreover, he’ll be releasing it along with a music video shot exclusively in Las Vegas. He’s excited for what’s ahead and hopes his music continues to uplift.

“My goal is to put a smile on a face and make someone forget about their troubles for a moment in time, while simultaneously inspiring people to think and reflect on how they are living and how we can change for the better.”
