With so much success with LSD Studios, VIIbez plans on putting Chicago further on the map.
Briana Roberts is actively helping to change the status quo within the music and entertainment industry. Professionally known as Viibez, she is the owner of LSD Music Production Studios in Chicago, one of the few women owned studios in the United States.
“I used to go around to open mics and concerts to get clients to come to my studio,” Viibez shared while recounting her humble beginnings. “As I grew, I started hiring the best of the best of engineers. Now I no longer engineer, and I just run the business side of the studio.”
Viibez initially got into music and sound engineering as a way to help her navigate her struggles with anxiety and depression. “I used poetry and music as my outlet,” the Chicago native said. “The more I dove into it the more at peace I became. I also noticed in Chicago, that many of the studios were poorly ran. I saw a niche and wanted to bring people a professional, safe, and comfortable recording environment.”
Now, LSD Music Production is one of the most prominent studios in Chicago and has hosted a plethora of artists such as Polo G, G Herbo, Lil Zay Osama and more.
With the success and growth the studio has made, Viibez is setting her sights on a broader outreach within her community.
“Outside of the studio, we are actually bringing together amazing song writers,
producers and engineers,” she tells Remixd Magazine. “With this unity we will provide resources that give creatives an opportunity to get placements, sync opportunities and just simply get noticed. I am also planning to start my own non-profit soon that will focus on music therapy for the youth as well as a young woman mentorship program. This is only the beginning.”
