Hailing from Suffolk, Virginia, Miah (@miahmusic) is making waves on his own terms. His more lyrical approach brings fresh air to the essence Hip Hop as he aims to be relatable while celebrating women. Amidst the upcoming release of his EP She Comes First, Miah shares his creatives journey while giving the scoop on his latest single “Floetry” exclusively with Remixd Magazine.
Growing up, Miah was eager to purse music after admiring the craft at a very young age. “When I was younger i was infatuated with Hip Hop. It’s something I always love to be around. We used to rap in hallways, in between classes, at the bus stops, on the buses, and so on. Over the years it was hobby of mine that a lot of my peers recommended I took seriously” he said.
Furthermore, he’s gained a plethora of musical influences. These include artists such as 50 Cent, J.Cole, Lupe Fiasco, D’Angelo, Bryson Tiller, and DVSN to name a few. Conveniently, his style of music combines the essence of both Hip Hop and R&B. “My sound is very night and day. Most that know me, know me as a relatable MC. Very soulful, experience based records. However, as of the past few years, I’ve been experimenting more in the realm of Trapsoul,” he said. His overall approach serves as relatable with celebratory elements “I love making song for women, and they’re often receptive to the wittiness, situational, eclectic approach I take to those records,” he said.

Although the project does not have an official release date, Miah is only just getting started as he continues to roll the project out. He hopes the project will receive positive reception all around.
