Mr. K.I.D HueyP‘s music is a reflection of his life experiences, and he draws inspiration from his mother’s tragic death when he was only seven years old. “My biggest motivation for creating music is the tragic loss of my mother and uncle when I was only seven years old,” he told Remixd Magazine. “Their death drastically changed my life, and the memories of my mother continue to inspire me to pursue my dreams and make her proud.”
His musical influences include legendary artists such as 2Pac, Biggie Smalls, A Tribe Called Quest, Kanye West, Nas, Lil Wayne, Hot Boys, Big Sean, Nipsey Hussle, J Cole, and Ab Soul.
His latest project, ‘Dreamchasers Never Wake Up,’ was released in March 2023. The project is inspired by his journey as an independent artist and the struggles that many artists face when pursuing their dreams. He describes ‘Dreamchasers Never Wake Up’ as an emotional roller coaster that chronicles the highs and lows of Mr. K.I.D HueyP’s life over the past few years.
“It is a project that speaks to the struggles that we all face in life and the need to persevere in pursuit of our dreams,” he says.
Mr. K.I.D HueyP is currently on tour, promoting his last EP, The Story of a Black Sheep, and his hit single, Spare Nobody, which has been streamed over 100k times on all platforms. He is also working on five upcoming projects, including the sequel to The Story of a Black Sheep, which will feature collaborations with major artists.
