It’s New Music Friday! As April winds down, some of your favorite artists have dropped a wave of new music. Remixd Magazine is back with another weekly roundup featuring the hottest releases of the week. This edition is packed with standout projects from Keri Hilson, Wiz Khalifa, Leon Thomas, and many more. Read on to discover the latest tracks and albums that dropped this week.

New Music Friday Picks 

Keri Hilson – We Need To Talk: LOVE (Album)

After a 14-year hiatus, Keri Hilson returns with her third full-length album, We Need To Talk: LOVE. The nine-track project is led by the single “Bae,” which cleverly samples Hurricane Chris’s 2007 hit “A Bay Bay.” The album also includes a guest feature from Method Man. Moreover, This release is the first installment in a three-part We Need To Talk album series.

Wiz Khalifa – ‘Kush + Orange Juice 2’ (Album)  

2025 seems to be the year of nostalgia. Wiz Khalifa taps into his old Kush & OJ days with the release of Kush + Orange Juice 2, the official sequel to his iconic 2010 mixtape. Arriving 15 years later, the 23-track album features appearances from O.T. Genasis, Gunna, Ty Dolla $ign, Luh Tyler, Larry June, and more. The project drops just a month before Wiz kicks off his ‘Taylor Gang The World’ tour.

Mozzy – Intrusive Thoughts (Album)

Following his joint project Lucky Her with fellow west coast rapper Kalan.FrFr, Mozzy returns with his solo album Intrusive Thoughts. The album was previewed with the singles “Nightmares” featuring Lil Poppa and “Munyunn,” which dropped earlier this month. Mozzy also links up with Polo G, EST Gee, Tsu Surf, Celly Ru, and E Mozzy for additional features.

Leon Thomas & Halle – “Rather Be Alone” 

Leon Thomas teams up with Halle for the emotionally rich duet “Rather Be Alone.” The track explores the tension that arises when a couple isn’t on the same page. Leon dials back his powerful vocal range while Halle’s angelic voice complements his effortlessly. The single weaves elements of rock and R&B into a turbulent yet beautiful story.

Key Glock – “The Grinch” 

Ahead of his upcoming album Glockaveil, Key Glock drops his third single, “The Grinch.” On the track, Glock boasts about his wealth and work ethic, keeping his signature laid-back flow steady over a minimal beat. At just over two minutes, the song packs a confident punch. Key Glock has steadily been on a roll.

J.I.D – “Work” 

Dreamville’s own J.I.D returns with his first single of the year, “Work.” Staying true to his style, J.I.D lets his rapid-fire wordplay shine. Produced by Christo and Pluss, the track gives off a slick Southern vibe as J.I.D flows effortlessly, giving a subtle nod to his Georgia roots.

Tommy Richman & Sexyy Red – “Acting Up (Remix)” 

Tommy Richman brings the heat with the remix to his viral hit “Acting Up,” enlisting none other than Sexyy Red. Her high-energy verse brings fresh life to the track, staying true to the original’s vibe while making it feel like a brand-new summer anthem. The two take it up a notch in the single music video. 

Girlfriend & Tierra Whack – “Bon Voyage” 

Rising R&B artist Girlfriend teams up with lyrical powerhouse Tierra Whack for “Bon Voyage.” The track radiates positive energy and romantic longing as both artists express their desire to be closer to their lovers. The song’s music video adds another layer of vibrance with its playful visuals.

1900Rugrat – “Never Dat” 

Florida’s rising star 1900Rugrat goes in on his latest single, “Never Dat.” The track reflects on his journey from the come-up to his current success, with lyrics that contrast his past struggles and present wins. The music video showcases his flashy lifestyle and has already racked up over 75K views on YouTube.
