New Music Friday Picks

The Weeknd – ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ (Album)

The Weeknd makes a highly anticipated return with Hurry Up Tomorrow, his first album in three years since Dawn FM (2022). He first teased the project in September with the release of its lead single, “Timeless” featuring Playboi Carti. Spanning 22 tracks, Hurry Up Tomorrow blends multiple genres and boasts an impressive lineup of surprise guest appearances, including Future, Lana Del Rey, and Florence + The Machine.

EST Gee – ‘I Ain’t Feeling You’ (Album)

EST Gee returns with his latest album, I Ain’t Feeling You, a 12-track project led by previously released singles like “RIP LU Mike,” “The Streets,” and “My Love” featuring Rylo Rodriguez and Veeze. For this release, he also joins forces with Lil Baby and Travis Scott on the standout track “Houstalantaville.” Staying true to his signature style, Gee delivers sharp punchlines, hard-hitting street anthems, and vivid storytelling throughout the album.

BabyTron – ‘Song Wars’ (EP)

Detroit’s own BabyTron is back with his latest EP, Song Wars, arriving just a month after his album Tronicles. The five-track project includes “2025,” offering a glimpse of what fans can expect from him this year. Keeping it strictly solo, BabyTron forgoes features, allowing his signature style and sharp lyricism to take center stage.

Eastside Brotha – ‘Supersonic

Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, multi-genre recording artist Eastside Brotha unveils Supersonic, a project rooted in relatable themes of love, loss, and resilience. These experiences are embodied by the album’s central character, Mr. Supersonic, who overcomes life’s challenges. Leading the album is “Air Max 95,” an alternative rock-inspired single layered with deep storytelling. Supersonic also boasts standout collaborations with LLOYD OP, Nami, Caponedagod, and Amaré Bates.

Latto & Playboi Carti- “Blick Sum” (Remix)

Latto is back with the remix to her single “Blick Sum,” teaming up with Playboi Carti for a surprise collaboration she announced earlier this week. The Atlanta duo also dropped a music video to accompany the release. The original track debuted on her latest album, Sugar Honey Iced Tea, which arrived this past August.

Luh Tyler – “Florida Boy”

Luh Tyler pays tribute to his home state with “Florida Boy,” a track that offers a subtle nod to Florida culture, referencing gold teeth and flashy jewelry. Showcasing a fresh approach, he delivers monotone vocals while staying true to his signature golden flow.

Larry June, 2 Chainz & The Alchemist- “I Been

Larry June reunites with 2 Chainz and The Alchemist for “I Been,” arriving just a week after their debut collaboration, “Bad Choices.” This time, Larry and 2 Chainz effortlessly glide over The Alchemist’s smooth, jazz-infused production, further solidifying themselves as a hip-hop trio to watch.

Will Smith, Big Sean & OBanga- “Beautiful Scars

Big Sean and Will Smith step into The Matrix with their latest collaboration, “Beautiful Scars,” featuring OBanga’s soulful vocals on the hook. Will Smith brings the cinematic theme to life in the track’s visually striking music video. The inspirational single is part of Smith’s upcoming album, Based on a True Story, set to drop in March—marking his first full-length release in 20 years.

Yung Bleu & Meek Mill-“Friends To Miami”

Yung Bleu drops “Friends To Miami” featuring Meek Mill, the first single from his highly anticipated album, What Makes Us Human. The track delivers Yung Bleu’s signature heartfelt vocals on this breakup anthem, while Meek Mill amps up the energy with his powerful delivery. What Makes Us Human is set to release on Valentine’s Day.
