It’s the first week of 2025 and Remixd Magazine is setting the soundtrack for the new year! Kicking things off, a few of your favorite artists punch in with new projects and singles. New Music Friday Picks
Lil Baby- ‘Wham’ (Album)
Kicking things off, Lil Baby shares his highly anticipated album, WHAM. In November, Lil Baby began teasing the release of the project by sharing the singles “5AM” and “Insecurities” both on the same day. The project WHAM (Who Hard As Me) offers 12 singles. Additionally, the project includes features from artists such as Young Thug, Future, Rod Wave, Rylo Rodriguez, Travis Scott, GloRilla, and 21 Savage. The album arrives just two years after his latest project, It’s Only Me.
Boldy James & RichGains- ‘Murder During Drug Traffic’ (Album)
Boldy James makes a brief return with his latest collaborative efforts Murder During Drug Traffic. Furthermore, Boldy joins forces with producer RichGains. This isn’t the first time the duo have joined forces on a project. In 2023, they teamed up for the project Indiana Jones. Their latest project, Murder During Drug Traffic is accompanied by 13 songs. Additionally, the project holds features from artists such as Cassie Jo Craig, Detroit King Tape, and Double Dee among others.
Jack Harlow- “Tranquility”
Earlier this week, Jack Harlow shared self boasting new anthem, “Tranquility.” Throughout the single, Jack flexes his bars with calm delivery. He dives into a more personal marriage of self realization, isolation, as well as tuning out the noise of critics. Force this release, Jack shares a one scene music visual of walking through cold weather while raping the songs. The single is already making tons of waves as the video sits just over one million views
Joey BadA$$- “The Ruler’s Back”
Joey BadA$$ is war ready with his latest “The Ruler’s Back.” Debuting on the first day of the year, Joey returns with heavy bars embedded in his hard core New York styled delivery. Throughout the single, Joey lets it all out as he reclaims his “King of NY” status.
Fredo Bang- “Read Your Mind”
Baton Rouge’s own, Fredo Bang returns with “Read Your Mind.” the single samples Avant’s 2003 hit single “Read Your Mind.” Keeping it linear, Fredo keeps the same hook as Avant’s with a twist. Nonetheless, Fredo delivers a fresh rendition of an almost 22 year old classic.
Hurricane Wisdom & Polo G- “Giannis Remix”
Hurricane Wisdom shares revamp of his hit single “Giannis.” For the remix, he recruits Polo G. The original version debut this past August. This week, Hurricane Wisdom revamps the single giving it a fresh new vibe . Both Wisdom and Polo G match each others melodic flow with ease.
