New Music Friday: The best new music featuring Ty Dolla $ign, Juice WRLD, and Cash Cobain

The best new music from the week of March 6th!

It’s New Music Friday! Upon reflection, March has big shows to fill after a historic February. If anything, the only realistic route for this to actually happen, is by starting the first week on a strong note. This week’s edition of New Music Friday features standout releases from Ty Dolla $ign, Juice WRLD, Cash Cobain, and many more. Read on to find the latest tracks and albums that dropped this week.

New Music Friday Picks

Ty Dolla $ign – ‘girl music vol. 1’ (EP)

In theory, Ty Dolla should be one of the most popular R&B artists, especially given how high in demand he is for features. In reality, he has failed countless times at making a timeless project, with ‘girl music’ following suit. At this point, we have to accept that he lacks the depth to make an intriguing project.

Juice WRLD – “We Don’t Get Along” ft Marshmello

It should be noted and well-documented how awful Juice WRLD’s estate has been with his posthumous releases. In fact, his latest release is another disappointment that should’ve never been released. Instead, we were given another unfinished crash grab that will only water down the late-great rapper’s discography.

Cash Cobain – “Wish”

Looking back, last summer was so memorable primarily due to the influx of music. With that in mind, Cash Cobain is gearing up to remake that magic-based off his new single, “Wish.” Upon closer examination, he taps into a whole new sound, building even more anticipation for his upcoming album.

Rapper’s Delight

KARRAHBOO – “NO HOOK”

As a result of being pushed out of Concrete Boys, KB is finally back making music on her own terms. Undoubtedly, she sounds rejuvenated and recharged after her lengthy hiatus. In fact, I believe she perfectly let the world know that she didn’t need a group to succeed and be a star.

Skrilla – “Bazin”

Taking everything into account, and the viral success of “6, 7” it’s a shame that Skrilla didn’t immediately follow up on his hit. Looking back, he could have been an XXL Freshman and “Bazin” attempts to make up for that lost time. Looking ahead, this is the ideal situation for him to drop an album as he displayed amazing growth in his time away.

Fredo Bang – ‘Most Hated 2’ (Album)

At this point, one of the best skills that a rapper can have is self-awareness. In this situation, Fredo Bang effortlessly plays into being unliked and basing a whole project around this concept. As a result, we are gifted a menacing album based around that New Orleans sound.

R&B Corner

Ama – “Need It Bad” ft Brent Faiyaz

Previously, the last time we heard from Ama he had completely turned over a new leaf musically. While this is true, he seemed to revert back to his old ways based on his feature on Ama’s new single. Upon further thought, this is clearly his lane as the 2000’s style production perfectly fits their sensual lyrics.

Arya Starr – “Where Do We Go”

Finally, our last pick for New Music Friday goes to Arya Starr. In this case, the snippet does not do this track its full justice as she allows her vocals to shine at its fullest extent. On that note, be ready for plenty of artists to follow suit and starting to release their potential summer anthems.

We hope you enjoyed this week’s edition of New Music Friday!
