Furthermore, this week features artists such as Big Sean, Halle, Cordae, Anderson Paak. and more! Check out this week’s roundup of some of the hottest mainstream and Indie song release from this week.

New Music from the week of August 30th

Big Sean- “Who You Are (Super Star)”

Big Sean kicks things off with the release of his single “Who You Are (Super Star).” This is the latest single from his album that also debuted today called Better Me Than You. Big Sean slows it down a bit ladies with this one. An anthem that celebrates his admiration for his lover. Additionally, this song sample’s Usher’s classic 2004 hit single “Superstar.”

Cordae & Anderson .PaaK- “Summer Drop”

Cordae & Anderson .Paak team back up for their latest single “Summer Drop.” The two have yet to fall short of delivering a fire collaboration over the years. This one is no different. Throughout the song, Cordae and .Paak bounce back and forth lyrically as they reminisce on their younger days. You can catch them breezing through a hot summer day throughout the songs accompanied music video. Additionally, this song is produced by J.Cole.

Victoria Monet featuring Usher- “SOS

Victoria Monét is turning up the heat with her latest release. The single “SOS,” short for “Sex On Sight” is a smooth R&B duet between Victoria and Usher. These two make quite the duo. Usher’s legendary vocals bring additional sensuality to this track making it a strong collaboration.

Halle- “Because I love you”

The wait is finally over. Halle has been teasing this record for quite some time now. No Fans have longed for new music from her since the release of her debut single “Angel” last year. Halle returns with a more sensual R&B banger perfectly named “Because I Love You.”

For this single, Halle utilizes her dynamic R&B vocals as she showcases deeper levels of fondness  and appreciation for her partner. While being apologetic for some of her more extra actions, the song is full of reassurance. Halle teamed up with Raye as they co-wrote this single. 

Monaleo featuring Skilla Baby & Anycia – “Don Who Leo  Blanco & Repasado Remix”

Monaleo has taken one of the songs of the summer spot with the release of her single “Don Who Leo.” Today, she returns with the remix of this single with a twist. Monaleo teams up with Skilla Baby and Anycia for the remix. 

The single serves and an ode to the popular Tequila Don Julio. Mona describes the amped up effects it has on her. Skilla Baby and Anycia turn the effects up with three addition of their verses. It is safe to say Monaleo is just getting started with the popular summer anthem. 

Peezy- “All Black Trucks

Detroit heavyweight, Peezy returns with his single “All Black Trucks.” Immediately, Peezy reps his eastside Detroit origins with the song’s intro. The just over three minute single showcases Peezy’s preference for all black trucks. Symbolizing his wealth, Peezy flexes his higher maintenance status all while maintaining his smooth delivery. 

Lil Tecca -“Bad Time

Lil Tecca has been having a strong release spree lately. Staying true to his groovy Hip-Hop sound, Lil Tecca describes the hugs and lows within a toxic relationship throughout the single “Bad Timing.” Although the relatable yet catchy single has a more monotoned meaning, the songs delivery has a more upbeat mood shifting ability. 

Tommy Richman – “Thought You Were The One

Furthermore, it is no secret that Tommy Richman has been having a dynamic year this year. His single “Million Dollar Baby” took social media by storm for its catchy word delivery and uptempo tone. Tommy returns with a slower jam named ”Thought You Were The One.”

Throughout the song, Tommy walks listeners through a breakup which seemingly affects him deeper. As the heart of the song maintains a higher tempo, Tommy slows it down this time. Nonetheless, this perfect way to sign out such a dynamic run this summer for Tommy. 

Russ-“Get Up & Get It

Russ returns with a more motivational single where he promotes the hustle mentality with his latest single “Get Up & Get It.” This single takes us more in the mind of Russ. As he has remained one of the most consistent artists in the game, Russ continues to handle things on his own terms. Although the single is very short, Russ keeps it straight forward while delivering refreshingly inspirational bars. 

Antion Scales- “HaveYouEver”

Lastly, Indie recording artist, Antion Scales showcases his diverse sound with his latest single “HaveYouEver.” Deriving from his brand new project Love Portal, Scales question’s his lover about his spontaneous style of affection. He delivers his melodic approach over a drill beat challenging the norm of his past releases showcasing his versatility.
