New Music Friday: The best new music featuring Kali Uchis, DaBaby, CHASE B, and more

The best new music from the week of December 19th!

It’s New Music Friday! All in all, 2025 has shaped up to be a consistent year for music. With this in mind, it’s even more surprising that this far in December there are still meaningful releases coming out. This week’s edition of N.M.F. features standout releases from Kali Uchis, DaBaby, Chase B, and many more. Read on to find the latest tracks and albums that dropped this week.

New Music Friday Picks

Kali Uchis – “Muévelo”

Day by day, it’s starting to become clearer that Kali Uchis has lost the allure that made her blow. In particular, “Muévelo” provides nothing innovative and makes her seem like a basic reggaeton artist. Despite this slip-up, I still refuse to give up on her as I know she’s capable of so much more.

DaBaby – “Paper Low”

At this point, we can give up on any chance of a comeback from DaBaby any time soon. “Paper Low” regurgitates his same overused flow with an abnormal amount of enthusiasm. In the past, that might’ve worked, but he’s going to have to come a lot harder if he wants to have any staying power.

CHASE B – “Satellite” ft Don Tolliver & SoFaygo

Upon reflection, Cactus Jack’s ‘JACKBOY 2’ came and went at one of the fastest rates we’ve seen in a while. Maybe if it had more dynamic tracks that are based around its best members like Chase B‘s “Satellite,” then it could’ve been more impactful. Truthfully, while Don does most of the heavy lifting, Faygo brings the right energy to help complement.

Rapper’s Delight

Larry June – “The Smooth Kind”

Christmas has come early for Larry June fans as he continues to constantly pump out new music. Once again, “The Smooth Kind” has him unapologetically being himself. After seeing commercial success with the help of 2 Chainz, 2026 could be the year he gets the recognition he deserves.

YFN Lucci – ‘ALREADY LEGEND.’ Deluxe (Album)

Admittedly, YFN Lucci has shown to be way more productive than his peers, after being released from jail. The deluxe version of his last album puts in perspective how hard he hit the ground running with no concern for outside factors. Interestingly enough, he boldly steps out of his comfort zone to work with vastly different artists like T-PAIN to show his newfound growth.

EsDeeKid – “4 Raws Remix” ft Timothée Chalamet

Through the years, we haven’t had a superstar actor have a generation run like Timothée in a very long time. Continuing to reveal more lore day by day, he ceremoniously makes his music debut with EsDeeKid. Surprisingly, he doesn’t do that badly or even make a mockery of rap and is able to ride the UK drill beat with ease.

Lyrical Miracle

Logic – “The Ballad of Rooster Jenkins”

Without doubt, Logic’s ability to drop music should be temporarily revoked for releasing a 9-minute track. In this context, he felt this was a good idea for the lead track to his upcoming movie, but the end result is very lackluster. By the time you get to his verse, it tests your patience and leaves you underwhelmed.

Kenny Mason – ‘Pup Pack: 2nd Shift’ (EP)

Finally, our last entry of New Music Friday goes to ATL-based lyricist, Kenny Mason. Over time, he’s proved to have all the tangibles needed for stardom. This EP says a lot about his originality and ability to intertwine rock into his sound.

We hope you enjoyed this week’s edition of New Music Friday!
