The best new music from the week of November 28th!
It’s New Music Friday! Although, Thanksgiving recently passed, there is still a lot to be thankful for. For instance, there was a plethora of noteworthy releases that dropped this week that are worth your time. This week’s edition of N.M.F. features standout releases from Tems, Lil Uzi Vert, NLE Choppa, and many more. Read on to find the latest tracks and albums that dropped this week.
New Music Friday Picks
Tems – ‘Love Is A Kingdom’ (EP)
Eventually, Tems will get the due credit that she deserves. Surely, that moment is in the near future as her latest EP is entirely produced, composed, and written by her. ‘Love Is A Kingdom’ is a testament to her immense talent as she truly never fails to impress.
Lil Uzi Vert – “Relevant/Chanel Boy”
As a result of leaving Atlantic Records, Uzi is embarking on a new chapter with his own label imprint, Cor(e). To kickstart it all, he dropped two versatile singles to confirm his official return to music. It’s apparent that he worked out the kinks to reinvent himself without trying to sound like his younger self.
NLE Choppa – “Hello Revenge”
Certainly, no one could’ve predicted the overly righteous turn that NLE Choppa’s music has made. “Hello Revenge” very much confirms the confusing identity crisis that he seems to be going through. It’s almost hard to believe that he’s not ragebaiting the world just to stay relevant.
Rapper’s Delight
Russ – “Clue”
Undoubtedly, Russ has cemented his legacy as the blueprint for underground artists. Hoping to establish himself even more, he recently released an ambitious single titled “Clue.” It’s remarkable how he uses this track to be a vehicle to be vulnerable and vividly express his emotions.
A$AP Ferg – ‘Flip Phone Shorty – Strictly for Da Streetz Vol. 1’ (Album)
While it is a proven fact that Ferg can make a quality project, it’s maddening how laughably bad his newest release is. One can say that after he dropped A$AP from his name, he hasn’t been the same artist. If the production didn’t sound like 10-year-old generic trap beats, there might be a glimmer of hope. But sadly, there is no light at the end of the tunnel for this one.
Nino Paid – “Bad Beans”
Quietly, Nino Paid has carved a lane as the new face of DMV rap. “Bad Beans” surely reiterates that sentiment, as he carefully picked a beat that allows his talents to best shine. For this reason, it makes all the sense why the unreleased snippet of this track created so much buzz and created so much anticipation.
Atlanta All-Stars
Booney – ‘Ladies Love Gold’ (EP)
Admittedly, the city of ATL has been chasing the idea of another lyrical rapper to take the crown/torch since Outkast. With this in mind, look no further than Booney and his newly released project, ‘Ladies Love Gold.’ Lyrically, this project is perfectly suited for listeners who love vivid storytelling and rich production.
Osiris Wolf – ‘The Ghost of Black Moses’ (Album)
Last but not least, the final spot of New Music Friday is being dedicated to Osiris Wolf and his newly released album. In an era in which a lot of albums lack fleshed-out concepts, you can tell he went all-in on world-building. All his ideas are so well executed and intentional which makes the his most immersive project yet.
We hope you enjoyed this week’s edition of New Music Friday!
