This week’s edition features standout releases from Key Glock, Ella Mai, Joey Bada$, and more. Read on to find the latest tracks and albums that dropped this week.
New Music Friday Picks
Key Glock – ‘Glockaveli: All Eyes On Key’ (Album)
When all is said and done, Key Glock needs to be remembered as one of the most underrated rappers ever. His new album is another example of him dominating without the help of any features. From the flows to the beat selection, he does a lot to keep you engaged. One day, he will get the mainstream love he deserves.
DJ Snake & Don Toliver – “Something Wrong” (Single)
DJ Snake teamed up with Don Toliver to deliver a new anthem, “Something Wrong.” Blending Snake’s long-standing love for hip-hop with Toliver’s hypnotic vocal presence, “Something Wrong” delivers a suave, nostalgic performance wrapped in modern production. Pulsing synths and retro textures push the single into effortlessly cool territory, equal parts euphoria and timeless emotion.
Ella Mai – ‘Tell Her’
It’s been a while since we heard from Ella Mai and she’s finally back. Multiple years removed from “Boo’d Up,” she’s turned over a new leaf with her sound. While it doesn’t contain nearly the same amount of replay value, it serves its purpose as a stepping stone to her album.
Joey Bada$$ – ‘Lonely At The Top’ (Album)
Comparatively, to other years, 2025 has been one of the best years for hip-hop, with a lot of credit going to Joey Bada$$. Based on his conciseness, he’s comfortably in a space where he isn’t trying to compete with anyone but himself. In addition, he brings along some features from rising talents such as Kai Ca$h, who respectively hold their weight.
Female Fatales
Ciara – ‘Cici’ Deluxe (Album)
It’s worth noting that at nearly 40 years old, Ciara is still making moves independently. Surprisingly, the deluxe version of her new album might be even better than the original. She packed this project with every vibe possible from skating, slow jams, and feel-good songs.
Jai’Len Josey – “Freak”
In case you’ve been living under a rock, Jai’Len Josey is gearing up to be the next big thing in R&B. “Freak” is a subtle reminder that she’s arrived as the one to watch. This track possesses a vibrant energy about it that truly makes you want to get on the dance floor.
R&B Corner
Karri – ‘fmyx/dirty diana’ (EP)
To no one’s surprise, things have been looking good for California’s Karri after receiving a co-sign from Drake. If anything, his latest release puts up a good argument that he could be the next king of late-night music. The PND influence is certainly undeniable, because these tracks will make you want to call your ex back.
Khamari – ‘To Dry A Tear’ (Album)
Contrary to popular belief, Khamari’s hopeless romantic songwriting style is missing in today’s R&B. ‘To Dry A Tear’ is so beautifully layered both lyrically and sonically. Without a doubt, he’s surpassed the Frank Ocean comparisons and is making a name for himself.
Mexikodro – “Height”
Last but not least, rapper/producer, Mexikodro is living proof that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself. “Height” is a great introduction for new listeners, as he inspires listeners to want better for themselves. His historic run won’t be ending anytime soon, as he is singlehandedly keeping hope alive.
We hope you enjoyed this week’s edition of New Music Friday!
