The best new music from the week of June 13th!

It’s New Music Friday! Summer is in full effect. What better way to celebrate surviving the week than a batch of new music. Remixd Mag went out the way to spotlight some releases worth checking out. This week’s edition features releases from Chris Brown, Gunna, 4batz, and many more. Read on to find the latest tracks and albums that dropped this week.

New Music Friday Picks

Heavy Hitters

Chris Brown – “Holy Blindfold

Chris Brown is one artist you can always count on for new music. His latest single, “Holy Blindfold,” bravely takes a completely different creative direction than his usual sound. The bare-bones pop-style production leaves room for CB to remind us how versatile his songwriting is. He pretty much makes something out of nothing, gifting us a strong hype builder for his new tour.

Gunna – “Won’t Stop

As the title suggests, Gunna has continued to rack up wins after being released from jail. “Won’t Stop” gives his core fan a glimmer of hope that the “Old Gunna” is still alive. His past experiences have sharpened his pen game to express a more mature yet refined sound. No longer only rapping about drip, Gunna accepts the challenge to bring substance to his raps.

4batz – “When I Get Home” ft Wale

It’s easy to get written off when you happen to be an overnight sensation like 4batz. Doing his best to have another moment, 4batz has been relentless with maintaining a social presence with new music like “When I Get Home.” Ironically, he called upon Wale for a feature, an artist who has been getting written off since his emergence. This collab doesn’t disappoint as 4batz gets to show-off his raw vocals.

One Time for the Singers

India Shawn – “Kill Switch

Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter India Shawn is certainly on the cusp of having her career ascend to new heights. Releases like “Kill Switch” reassure me that her time is coming, because something is so refreshing/fearless about her artistry. Her expertise as a songwriter for other stars plays a key role in her recent run.

Neila – “Mac N Cheese

Florida-bred singer Neila‘s latest drop, “Mac N Cheese,” is bound to have you in a chokehold. Off the rip, her ear for production that matches her essence will lure you in and make you want to keep listening. She possesses the ability to make the most out of every beat and use it as an opportunity to keep popping out with a reinvented sound.

Cory Gunz – “Bag

Best known for his appearance on Lil Wayne‘s smash hit, “6 Foot 7 Foot,” Cory Gunz has never lost sight of becoming a household name. This YMCMB signee seemingly hasn’t lost a step and maintains his razor-sharp lyricism. The only thing that’s changed about him since his last moment of stardom is his growth in creating memorable hooks. He makes sure to come up with something worth the wait.

LARRENWONG – “Coast to Coast

Bay Area R&B artist, Larrenwong, is living proof that anyone with determination can pivot career paths. “Coast to Coast” almost makes you forget that he used to be an NFL player due to the fact that he has such a polished sound. As his career has progressed, he has evolved into an R&B heartthrob who knows how to pour his heart into his music.

June Freedom – “Spiritual”

With a sound that defies multiple genres, June Freedom has created a lane for himself thanks to his fearless experimentation. “Spiritual” encapsulates his bold musical journey and how he’s solidified his place in the world of Afro-fusion. Produced by AIR!C & BEARDEAUX, their rich production does a lot of heavy lifting for June to create an immersive experience.
