The best new music from the week of October 10th!
It’s New Music Friday! As a result of the summer ending, we are already starting to see more artists eager to drop since fall is here. Certainly, no one could’ve forecasted this happening, but we couldn’t be happier each week to showcase what music caught our attention. This week’s edition features standout releases from Khalid, PinkPantheress, BIA, and many more. Read on to find the latest tracks and albums that dropped this week.
New Music Friday Picks
Khalid – ‘after the sun goes down’ (Album)
For the last decade, Khalid has been quietly flying under the radar and focusing on his core fans. After being outed for his sexuality, his newest album reflects an artist who seems happy in his skin based on his creative growth. With this in mind, it’s hard not to appreciate the musical risks he took such as embracing that 2000s upbeat pop style. Ultimately, this is a dope comeback project that possesses great melodies with a sentimental theme.
Kodak Black – “Still Get Chanel” ft Chance the Rapper
Love him or hate him, Kodak will never stop being himself. Of course, his newest collab with Chance feeds into his spontaneous nature as an artist. In fact, this track confirms that his style of rap is compatible with every type of artist based on how he made it work with Chance.
BIA – ‘BIANCA’ (Album)
As a result of her recent beefs, BIA’s music will always be met with instant hate. But if you truly give her debut a chance, you will see that she has surpassed expectations. In reality, she has earned this moment, and it’s a matter of time til she gets her flowers.
R&B Corner
Chase Shakur – ‘WONDERLOVE+’ (LP)
Obviously, Atlanta has never been known for its R&B scene, but Chase Shakur has the power to change their reputation. The deluxe version of his 2025 album utilizes nostalgia to its advantage to give a sense of familiarity. Most importantly, he builds a world around his soft, yet delicate vocals.
Josh Levi – ‘HYDRAULIC’ (Album)
Regardless of whether you’re single or not, Josh Levi’s newly released album has an unmatched feeling of relatability. Not only is this his debut project, but it might actually be his best body of work. From the beginning, he sets the tone by showing off his moist vocals and doesn’t let up. Undoubtedly, the future of R&B is in great hands.
Ye Ali – “CONTAGIOUS” ft Pino
In preparation for his upcoming album, Ye Ali kick-started the rollout with a single. However, the song is elevated to a new high, thanks to the feature from Canadian-based artist, Pino. Even though, this is their first release together, their off-the-charts chemistry makes this track stand out.
Rapper’s Delight
TiaCorine – ‘CORINIAN‘ (Album)
Generally, it’s an uphill battle for artists to beat the one-hit wonder allegations, and TiaCorine might be one of the best recent examples. ‘CORINIAN’ feels like her first warm welcome to the mainstream as she includes features from some big names such as Wiz or J.I.D. Undeniably, this is her best/most well-rounded body of work and will help put NC rap on the map.
bdifferent – “LMDS” featuring Hotboii
Last but not least, our last pick of New Music Friday has to go to Atlanta-based artist, bdifferent, and his new single, “LMDS.” He teams up with Florida’s Hotboii and they make magic together. Due to their similar conscious storytelling abilities, the end result is a true match-made-in-heaven.
We hope you enjoyed this week’s edition of New Music Friday!
