Nicki Minaj & Doja Cat set new Guinness World Record with “Say So” remix

In the last decade, the rise of female hip-hop has taken the music industry by storm, seeing multi-platinum selling artists such as Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat, taking center stage in the male-driven business.

As hip hop fans witnessed the meteoric rise of Doja Cat’s 2020 smash hit, “Say So,” its successor, the “Say So” remix, broke records. The track, featuring megastar Nicki Minaj, made music history with its debut, earning the rap pair their first Billboard number one on May 16, 2020.

While female rappers such as Megan Thee Stallion and Saweetie have racked up a slew of their own Billboard hits, today, the “Say So” remix has officially made world history.

According to the Guinness World Records, the iconic collaboration has been recognized as the first female rap duo in Billboard history to reach number one. This achievement marks the third record-breaking accolade received by Nicki Minaj while highlighting Doja Cat’s first.

In acknowledgment of the historic moment, rapper Nicki Minaj took to Twitter, liking a tweet that featured the achievement:
