Nkosi Bourne’s “Drowning” video showcases relatable themes and powerful visuals

Brooklyn artist Nkosi Bourne has shared a new visual for his song “Drowning”, which was featured on his well-received recent EP Glimpse. Containing a meditative atmosphere and focused shots that capture the song’s pensive, calming feel, the new video for “Drowning” finds Bourne contemplating many life issues that are relatable to a wide audience of viewers. It is a poignant and sharply-crafted piece that reflects Bourne’s work ethic and attention to detail while keeping its style minimalistic and approachable. The song itself does well to cohesively blend with the visuals, utilizing laid-back, smoky guitars and buoyant percussion to underscore Bourne’s smooth flows. The music video shot by Cultivison, a production company run by Cult Classic, follows Nkosi through a depiction of a day in his life. Beginning with his home life, you get to see some of his routines but, more importantly, the things that can easily deprioritize his passion for making music and grinding. It’s a solid release overall that follows up his EP Glimpse, and it begins 2023 on an exciting note for the rising Brooklyn artist.
