Offset gets personal on third solo album ‘KIARI’

Offset

Offset dropped his long-awaited third solo album, KIARI. And it’s a whole new level of authenticity. The 18-track project is named after his birth name, signaling a more intimate, stripped-back version of the Atlanta rapper than we’ve ever seen. While Offset still flexes his signature style, he’s also getting pretty vulnerable. Moreover, he’s reflecting on his rise, mistakes, and everything in between.

“KIARI is me. I challenged myself as an artist and really put it all into the music,” Offset said in a statement. “I know who I am, and I hope the world gets to understand who KIARI is through this album.”

And Offset surely didn’t do it alone. The album is stacked with features from the likes of JID, Gunna, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, John Legend, Ty Dolla $ign, and more. One standout is “Different Species” with Gunna. It’s a lovestruck anthem that’s as smooth as it is hypnotic. Offset and John Legend also team up on “Never Let Go,” which dropped with a cinematic visual the same day as the album.

The rollout for this album has been bold. In fact, it has included a Times Square stunt featuring Offset lookalikes in suits, recreating one of the album’s alternate covers.

Production-wise, KIARI goes all in. With contributions from the Honorable C.N.O.T.E., London on da Track, FNZ, and more… making room for Offset’s bars to hit harder than ever.

From club-ready anthems such as “Bodies” featuring JID to introspective cuts like “Folgers” and “Calories,” KIARI shows Offset’s full range. It’s personal. It’s powerful. And it might just be his most complete work yet.
