Pablo Skywalkin brings the heat in “Hot and Ready” music video

Internet viral sensation, Pablo Skywalkin has made the most of his internet fame by constantly reinventing himself. By far, Pablo has one of the most incredible rebrands that I have ever seen. Following his recent appearance on On The Radar, he has dropped the official music video for his single, “Hot and Ready.” This single finds Pablo Skywalkin in a comfortable pocket as floats over some Midwest-influenced production with his creative lyricism.

Rebranding has to be one of the most difficult tasks to accomplish in the entertainment industry and Pablo Skywalkin is proof that anyone can do it. Originally known as a Detroit-style rapper, social media allowed him to show more of his personality and eventually, incorporate it into his raps. “Hot and Ready” embodies his silly, carefree energy that took the internet by storm.

Pizza Raps

As the song title alludes to, the accompanying video was literally all shot at Pablo Skywalkin’s local pizzeria. This “run-and-gun” style of videos has taken rap by storm and can sometimes be a hit or miss. It’s crazy because you even have major mainstream artists like Playboi Carti, doing it. To me, this shows the days of big-budget videos are almost extinct.

For Pablo Skywalkin, I feel this unique style of video kinda plays into his one-of-a-kind rap flow. Similar to RXK Nephew, you can never predict or prepare for what they are going to say. You could actually create a drinking game for every outlandish bar he says because he’s so damn unpredictable. So seeing him utilize a Lil Caesar’s as if it was a trap house, is kind of the most normal things he can do.

Overall, this wacky video can be added to the lore and myth of a character, Pablo Skywalkin. Between his creative outfits and “disconnected” delivery, he doesn’t feel like a a real human being. In fact, he feels more like an alter ego/cartoon character.

Making Rap Fun Again

In my eyes, Pablo Skywalkin is filling a gap that the people didn’t even know needed a filling. I think it’s important to hip-hop culture, that we have a handful of rappers who feel more like characters and don’t take themselves too seriously. I hope to see if Pablo Skywalkin can help bring the fun missing in rap.
