The Detroit takeover is in full force. Over the past weekend, Detroit native Peezy kicked off his first headlining tour in Los Angeles at The Belasco. Since his debut, the rapper has seen extreme success with hit singles such as “Perc 10” and “2 Million Up.”
The show promptly started at 8 pm as people began to trickle in. Sounds of fellow Detroit rappers such as Tee Grizzley and Rio blared through the speakers. As the music played, fans stood front and center, eager to see Peezy. With no opening act, RJ Always Tripping (Peezy’s DJ) did an amazing job of keeping the crowd hyped, inviting fans on stage, and giving out free merch.
As the lights dimmed, fans started to scream “Ghetto Boy” (which is Peezy’s popular phrase), and they were ready for their very own “Ghetto Boy Experience.” Soon after the rapper came out, he began his performance. Peezy performed a medley of songs, including “I’m Good Pt. 5,” “Million Dollar N***a,” and many more. Included in his set was a guest performance from RalfythePlug of The Stincc Team.
After Ralphy’s performance, the lights turned off completely as fans lit up the venue with their flashlights. Peezy then came back on stage to close out the show with a stellar performance of “Perc 10” and “2 Million Up.” During that performance, Peezy would pause in amazement due to fans singing word for word.
Knowing the show was finished, Peezy thanked fans saying, “LA, I love y’all…get home safe.” He then migrated through the crowd to greet fans.
Overall, the “2 Million Up Tour” was a great experience. Peezy did a great job of bringing The D to LA. For the next tour stops, the links will be below.
