If you’re not tapped in with Pxrry (@officialpxrry), I hate to admit you’ve been missing out. This Connecticut-based R&B singer/songwriter has recently been on a tear due to his introspective songwriting ability. Looking to set the tone early for 2024, he blessed us with a romantic new single titled “Only One.” The song features an outstanding appearance by Shreta (@shretaa_), which adds even more charm to this passionate duet.
”Only One” takes listeners on a dreamy journey as if they’re riding in a Corvette with the windows down on a scenic road trip. This level of romance is typically not commonly found in this generation, due to how much R&B has stylistically evolved. The way that Pxrry paints an elegant picture of his lover is pure poetry. There was once a time when music glamorized affection and this song represents that.
And how awesome is it that this tandem found each other to make this come together? Through the power of social media, they were able to connect, despite being 10,000 miles apart. With there already being mutual respect, it was a given that they would collaborate and result is special. If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve assumed that they already knew each other due to their blazing chemistry. Produced by Pxrry’s long-time collaborator, Casper, he ties all the loose ends of this song with his graceful production.
As Pxrry continues to grow and reach new highs, there’s no doubt I won’t be hearing from him again. For most newer artists, there is usually a growth curve that they struggle with. But that is far from the case for Pxrry because he’s already cracked the code to make appealing music.
