The artist, whose real name was Lawrence Franks Jr., is best known for the hit “Pop, Lock & Drop It,” which topped at No. 6 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in June 2007.
Huey, the rapper best known for his debut hit song “Pop, Lock & Drop It” has died. The 31-year-old artist was reportedly killed in a shooting in St. Louis, Missouri on Thursday night. He is survived by his 13-year-old daughter.
According to NBC News, Producer Jaylien Wesley said he broke down in tears after learning of the performer’s death, “shed a few, my dawg Huey is gone forever.”
