It’s been a hot august and it’s getting even hotter with this week’s music release. It’s finally Friday and were ending this week of with great music to flow into the weekend. From The Game, to Ari Lennox, this New Music Friday is filled with versatility for listeners off all ages and genre’s. Listen to 7 must hear music releases, and grab our playlist to stay on top of newly released music.

Nicki Minaj 

Nicki Minaj is back and this time with her first solo single of the year. Originally being named “Freaky Girl” from the help of fans, Nicki was able to change her single title to “Super Freaky Girl” for legality reasons. The Rick James inspired single follows the series of singles Nicki has dropped within the last few months and with the comeback of Queen Radio, fans got an early listen of the single.

Ari Lennox

Singer/songwriter Ari Lennox took to social media this week with the announcement her new single “Hoodie” It’s been quite some time since the DMV artist has released any solo music. She recently has been featured Dreamville’s Collaborative Album D-Day, but she also released that her well-awaited album is almost done and will be releasing soon. –

Rod Wave 

Florida rapper and singer/songwriter Rod Wave released his high anticipated fourth studio album Beautiful Mind with Alamo Records. The album dive’s deeper into the artist’s emotional side, emphasizing on the fact that he is a “complicated man.” Fans raved on social media as he announced his album release date. The 24-track album features songs including Jack Harlow, and rising artist December Joy and a skit from comedian Druski.  Rod Wave has been preparing his listeners for this album for quite some time even after being delayed, but he has kept his fan base engaged with series of singles following his third album Soulfly.

Chris Patrick 

Upcoming talent Chris Patrick is one to look out for, fairly new to the music scene, The New jersey artist is creating quite a buzz. His sophomore album X-Files takes listeners on the 18-month journey of the creation of his album. The Ups, the downs and the raw emotions were all present throughout the 14-track album. Coined for his versatility, Chris offers a fresh sound with the release of this album. 

YG

YG is be closing out this summer with a “toxic anthem” with the release of his song “Toxic.” The awaited single was accompanied by a teaser YG dropped on Instagram, following a cover art release for his single. The Mary J Blige sampled song “Love Yourself” has YG experimenting with different sounds. The release will be accompanied by a music video dropping soon.

The Game

After spitting bars on his freestyle at L.A Leakers The Game has been proving his rap ability. With delays and slight hiccups The Game finally reveled his 10th studio album Drillmatic Heart Vs Mind. The sizeable 31-track album has been coined by The Game to be his “best album thus far.” The project has some prestigious features on it including Kanye West, Ice T, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross and more.

Megan Thee Stallion

After teasing music at Coachella, The Houston Hottie has released her new album Traumazine with guest collaborations from Key Glock, Rico Nasty, Future, Jhene Aiko, Dua Lipa and more. The sonically versatile album takes you through a wave of emotions. Traumazine features 18 songs that emphasizes on the trails and tribulations Megan has been through these last couple years. Because of its versatility Megan shared that, “At first you was twerking, now you might be crying.” Megan celebrated the album release by co-hosting The Tonight Show, and fans couldn’t be more excited to hear some more from the Houston Rapper.
