Bay Area-born, Georgia-based artist Sajaad (@Sajaad11) is back with a new release. And this one cuts deep. His latest single, “My Brudda,” brings a refreshing wave of emotional honesty to the current hip-hop landscape. Known for his self-coined genre Heartfelt Bounce, Sajaad delivers a message that’s as real as it gets.
“My Brudda” is a tribute to the people we consider family,” Sajaad says. “Whether they’re blood or not. Who we’ve grown distant from but still hold close in our hearts.”
The track dives into the emotional weight of relationships that change with time, distance, and life transitions. For Sajaad, this one is personal.
“This one came from a real place,” he says. “Sometimes we don’t get to say how we feel until it’s too late. So this was my way of doing that while we’re still here.”
Sajaad’s introspection is a welcome change of pace in an era often driven by flex culture. Instead of showing off, he’s showing up. For his truth, his people, and his listeners. His sound is hard to box in, but it carries the spirit of artists like Rod Wave, Russ, and early J. Cole. Thus, it’s lyrical, emotional, and always authentic.
Already making noise locally, Sajaad has performed at city festivals and even produced two independent shows. His anthem “Sic Em” was picked up by the University of Georgia football team and is slated to be played during home games this season. Moreover, it’s a move that’s only building his momentum.
If “My Brudda” is your first time hearing Sajaad, let it be the intro to an artist with purpose. This isn’t rap for clout. It’s rap with a message.
