Seph Dot rides the waves on new EP ‘WAVES N ROCKS’

Seph Dot

North Carolina’s own Seph Dot is back with a new project! One that blends mellow vibes, real-life storytelling, and a sound perfect for late-night drives. His latest EP, WAVES N ROCKS is already catching ears with its mix of emotion, honesty, and chill energy.

Originally from Raleigh and now based in Charlotte, Seph Dot got his name from the second half of his real name, Joseph. “I started off as ‘F Plus,’ then ‘Plus Almighty.’ Eventually, people started calling me ‘Seph,’ so I went with ‘Seph Dot.’ It basically symbolizes my final form,” he says. Though he admits that could still change. “We are constantly recreating and evolving ourselves.”

Seph’s music is all about the journey. Literally and emotionally. “WAVES N ROCKS is a journey through the tides of emotion,” he says. “It’s shaped by heartbreak, healing, and the quiet triumphs that come after the storm.” The EP moves between calm moments and crashing emotions. Thus, capturing what it feels like to rebuild yourself when life gets heavy.

Moreover, he blends rap with smooth melodies and storytelling. Moreover, he takes inspiration from artists like Curren$y, Isaiah Rashad, Kendrick Lamar, and even his own collective, The Bushes. “Whether you’re zoning out or turning up, my sound invites you to step away from the routine and tap into something deeper.”

Up next, Seph’s planning to release a new EP called L8 Bloomer this summer, followed by a potential full-length project titled Sephler. He’s also curating a series of live events called Within The Leaves.

At the end of the day, Seph’s message is simple: “It’s always better to be yourself and think for yourself. Your people will find you.” And with WAVES N ROCKS, he’s definitely helping his listeners find their way. One track at a time.
