The highly-anticipated movie soundtrack is available for streaming everywhere.
The album Black Messiah: The Inspired Album, for the Fred Hampton biopic, Judas and the Black Messiah just dropped and audiences are going crazy for it. The film stars Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield, and is available in select theaters and on HBO Max.
Executive-produced by Hit-Boy, the star-studded musical project features a mix of high-profile and up-and-coming artists like Jay Z, Nipsey Hussle, Nas, Rakim, A$AP Rocky, Lil Durk, G Herbo, JID, Smino, TDE’s own Sir, and many more, not to mention a special intro by Fred Hampton’s son Chairman Fred Hampton Jr.
The 22-track album also features an astonishing bonus track from Rakim, an iconic and legendary New York rapper known for his storytelling capability. Rakim delivers the self-titled song, “Black Messiah,” detailing the life of Fred Hampton. During the song, Rakim depicts the life and journey of Fred Hampton, who was a civil rights icon and the chairman of the Chicago Black Panther Party.
Another stand-out track featured on the soundtrack is Nipsey Hussle’s and Jay-Z’s record ‘What It Feels Like.” The late-great-Nipsey Hussle grants us his voice for a verse, hook, and outro, the little over four-minute songs showcasing yet another astounding posthumous track for the late rapper.
High-profile feature fans were surprised not to see on the album came from the musical trio Ghetto Sage, which features rappers Smino, Saba, and Noname. Smino and Saba do appear on the album with their track “Plead The .45th.” In a series of tweets, Noname revealed she dropped out of the song after viewing the movie and not agreeing with the premise.

The over hour-long album features distinguished and heartfelt verses and hooks that leave you speechless from the word-play to the vulnerability. Every artist on the album showcased pure excellence and versatility. The album is a must listen to, with so many hits from your favorite artists that it is hard to pick a favorite.
