Tony Da Kidd delivers highly anticipated album ‘And Beyond’

“It’s about me, my feelings, and other emotions that people can relate to,” Tony Da Kidd says. “I put a little bit of everything on this tape for everyone.”

Los Angeles based rapper Tony Da Kidd has unveiled his latest album titled And Beyond, featuring 14 records including collaborations with Jah Kang, Russ Greezy and Jame$on.

Off the back of singles releases “Change” and “Lil Baby,” Tony takes no prisoners in this riveting project proving why his rapping pedigree is on a different pedestal. He reveals the album’s theme to Remixd Magazine in a recent interview, saying that ‘And Beyond’ has something that every one can relate to, from the emotions to the stories.

“It’s about me, my feelings, and other emotions that people can relate to,” Tony Da Kidd says. “I put a little bit of everything on this tape for everyone. It’s about life and the way we feel, how we move, and why we do the things we do. All that and then a vibe, mix it all together now.”

The album’s title stemmed from a series of events, essentially derivative of what he felt his fans needed from him moving forward, as much as he wanted to challenge himself artistically to reach that next gear in his music.

“The name of this project is called ‘And Beyond.’ I had many people asking me, ‘what’s next,’ ‘what are you going to drop next,’ ‘it has to be better than the last project.’ Every time someone would say that, I would think, ‘to infinity and beyond.’ I called this project ‘And Beyond’ because this will go somewhere for me, I’ve went the distance already and now it’s time to go beyond that.”

In a move to Japan in 2014, Tony received an epiphany to make music. He has been consistently putting out music since then, abut has constantly referred to this project as his best work having worked on it for two to three years. It also follows his 2020 LP ‘Somewhere Writing.’

Now on the cusp to new heights, the artist originally from South Carolina doesn’t mince his words when he mentions his ambitions. He‘s far from shy admitting he has goals to be remembered among the greats in the wake of this jaunt.

“I want to be a XXL Freshman for 2022, I want to perform at the BET Awards, I want to be mentioned as a goat” he tells Remixd.

If you need an idea of what you’re getting, he describes his style as a mesh between Joey Badass, Big Krit, and a splash of Rick Ross.

His favorite track on the project is also “Change.” It’s a universal track that cuts across as a relatable gem to everyone.

“It’s so hard to pick because I like it all, can I say all? Lol, but I honestly like “Change” a lot. It’s basically about people telling me that I’m changing or acting differently when in fact never did. It’s the people around me that are changing or treating me differently, this track is highly relatable.”
