Cleveland artist Tweak on the Beat has dropped off his latest project, titled One & Only. This 7-song EP showcases the rising producer’s signature style, consisting of unique melodies and crunchy drums that draw the listener into this EP’s versatile soundscapes. With a growing discography that includes previous collaborations with standout names like E the Profit, Paris Bryant, Freshie, Slatt Zy, YFL Kelvin, Ezri, and more, Tweak has been rapidly gaining momentum for his infectious, character-rich production. His latest, One & Only, is chock full of memorable points, with dynamic beats that range from hard-hitting hip-hop to melodious, bright R&B. One & Only kicks off with the poignant “Like A Dawg”, featuring Cleveland legends Kipp Stone and DJ Kristyles.
“Like A Dawg” includes an elegant soundscape built around graceful strings and memorable keys from Tweak that makes for a silky, emotionally dense backdrop for Stone’s dextrous, sharply lyrical flows. “ICE”, featuring powerful vocals from E the Profit, makes for an EP highlight with its dense, hard-hitting rhythm section and wintery keys. “Want it Bad” finds Tweak and collaborator Paris Bryant delivering a versatile cut that is different in sound than the first two songs, with its more melodious, airy style that draws from R&B. Closer “MUD” is poignant as well, with its layered, grand instrumentation containing bouncy 808s, raw, grand keyboards, and crisp, slapping percussion underscoring Yayo da Cartune’s urgent, captivating flows.
Overall, One & Only is a hard-hitting, dynamic project that captures a variety of influences and sounds for an eclectic and engaging offering.
