Usher is making his return to music while gearing up to headline one of the biggest stages of his career. With less than two weeks away from his highly anticipated Super Bowl LVIII halftime performance, Usher appeared as the most recent guest on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, “Club Shay Shay.” During the episode, Usher shared his excitement for the Super Bowl, career highlights, music news, fatherhood, as well as a few socking details about almost ending up in a group with other musical icons.
During the just over hour long discussion, Shannon asked Usher about any collaborations he turned down in the past. Usher shared how he almost ended up in a group with Diddy, Jay-Z, and Pharrell Williams. “You’re gonna hate me for this one. JAY-Z, Pharrell, Diddy, and me were supposed to be a group,” he said. Shannon appeared shocked as he uttered “That’s Crazy” to the now known revelation. Additionally, Shannon asked why Usher didn’t take the opportunity. “I didn’t say ‘No,’ I didn’t say ‘Yeah.’ I think that we just I think we all got caught up in a moment, he said. “We’re talking about and having secret meetings about it. We were talking about music and how we’re gonna flip it, and the business of it. Somehow, man, we just got distracted, you know what I’m sayin’? And it never happened,”he added.
